K-Rend Silicone Render for Manchester Homes
Modern through-coloured silicone render for a clean, low-maintenance exterior.
25 years’ experience · Greater Manchester & surrounding areas
Tired of repainting the outside of the house?
Painted render looks great for a couple of years, then the north-facing wall greens up, the colour fades, and you're back up a ladder. Meanwhile the neighbours' new-build has a crisp white finish that still looks new after five winters.
That's usually a silicone system like K-Rend. It's the most common request from homeowners who want the appearance of their property genuinely improved rather than just tidied up.

How a K-Rend system goes on
K-Rend is a system rather than a single product — the background is prepared and, where needed, a base coat and mesh go on first to control movement and cracking. Beads set the lines at corners, sills and the bottom edge.
The through-coloured silicone topcoat is then applied and either scraped back to an even texture or finished smooth, depending on the look you're after. Because the colour is in the material, small scuffs don't show as bare patches.
Detailing is what separates a good job from an average one: clean reveals around windows, straight bell-cast lines, and proper drips so rain leaves the wall instead of tracking down it.
Where K-Rend works well
Popular right across Greater Manchester on both older houses being modernised and newer properties.
Full house transformations
Dated pebbledash or painted render replaced with a clean modern finish.
New builds and extensions
A consistent factory-coloured finish on fresh blockwork.
Part-render designs
Render to the upper floor with brick left below — a very common look locally.
Dormers and gables
The awkward high areas that always look worst first.
Feature walls
A contrasting colour used deliberately on one elevation.
Garages and porches
Tying the rest of the property in with the main house.
Why homeowners choose silicone render
- Colour runs through the render — no repainting every few years
- Water-repellent surface that sheds rain and stays cleaner
- Breathable, so moisture isn't trapped in the wall
- Consistent factory colour rather than site-mixed variation
- A genuinely modern look that lifts the whole property
- Hard-wearing on the elevations that take the worst weather

What is K-Rend?
K-Rend is a well-known brand of through-coloured silicone render. The colour runs all the way through the material instead of being painted on, and the surface repels water, so it stays cleaner and needs far less maintenance than traditional painted render.
Does K-Rend need painting?
No. That's the main appeal — the colour is in the render itself, so there's no repainting cycle every few years.
Can K-Rend go over existing render?
Only if what's underneath is sound and suitable. Failed or hollow render has to come off first, otherwise the new system fails with it.
What colours are available?
There's a wide standard range from whites and ivories through to greys and darker tones. Colour choice is worth deciding early as it affects ordering and lead times.
Do you cover my area?
K-Rend is carried out throughout Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas — Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Sale, Altrincham, Bury, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Wigan among others.
